OGCS Guinea SARL is a consultancy company specializing in the provision of multi-disciplined Project Management Services to the Global Mining and Energy Industry. We invite applicants for this role for the Simandou project in Guinea, West Africa. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking experienced and strategic applicants for the role of Superintendent – MEI, to lead the execution and oversight of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation (MEI) works across all areas of the Simandou Iron Ore Project, including mine, rail, port and Conakry office facilities.

As part of the project’s senior leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all MEI scopes are delivered safely, on schedule, to specification, and in full compliance with international standards and project governance.

This role demands technical depth, strong commercial and contractor management acumen, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a remote, high-performance environment.

This role is based at the Simandou Mine Site in Guinea , with occasional travel between project sites.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and coordinate all site-based MEI construction and commissioning activities, from planning through execution and handover.

  • Manage contractor and vendor performance to ensure compliance with HSE, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

  • Interface with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Commissioning, and Project Controls teams to ensure technical alignment and project readiness.

  • Drive a proactive safety culture through visible leadership and consistent enforcement of safety protocols.

  • Oversee QA/QC processes, site inspections, and technical resolutions for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

  • Contribute to risk management, construction planning, and progress reporting to senior project leadership.

  • Develop and mentor frontline supervisors and field engineers to build team capability and succession.

  • Ensure smooth transition of systems into commissioning and operations in alignment with systems completions strategies.

What you’ll bring:

  • Deep technical understanding of mechanical, electrical (HV/LV), and instrumentation systems in complex infrastructure.

  • Strong working knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, ISO).

  • Proven success managing multiple contractors and large workforces in remote or developing regions.

  • Familiarity with systems completion frameworks, commissioning handovers, and turnover documentation.

  • Experience working in West Africa or similar remote regions is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of project execution in greenfield mega-projects is a plus.

  • You must be committed to high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience in large-scale mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects, with at least 5 years in a Superintendent or equivalent leadership role.

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent trade background with supervisory certifications).
