OGCS Guinea SARL is a consultancy company specializing in the provision of multi-disciplined Project Management Services to the Global Mining and Energy Industry. We invite applicants for this role for the Simandou project in Guinea, West Africa. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Superintendent to join the site team at the Simandou Iron Ore Project in Guinea. This is a pivotal role in a major global mining and infrastructure project, where logistics performance is critical to the delivery and long-term success of the operation.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating end-to-end site logistics, including materials handling, transportation, warehousing, and contractor interfaces across a complex, large-scale supply chain in a remote environment.

This role is based at the Simandou Mine Site in Guinea , with occasional travel between project sites.

Key Responsibilities: 

Logistics Strategy & Execution

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all site logistics activities, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient movement of personnel, equipment, and materials.

  • Develop and implement site logistics procedures to support construction, commissioning, and operations.

  • Coordinate logistics interfaces between ports, road and rail corridors, laydown areas, and project work fronts.

Team & Contractor Oversight

  • Lead a team of logistics professionals and contractors in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Ensure contractors adhere to agreed service levels, safety standards, and operational protocols.

  • Monitor contractor performance and support issue resolution, escalation, and continuous improvement.

Compliance, Safety & Reporting

  • Drive a strong safety culture within all logistics activities, aligned with project HSE policies and expectations.

  • Ensure compliance with customs, import/export, and transport regulations in Guinea.

  • Provide regular reporting on logistics performance, risks, and resource needs to senior site leadership.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key interface between construction teams, supply chain management, procurement, and external service providers.

  • Maintain strong coordination with warehousing, expediting, and inventory control functions to support just-in-time delivery and minimize delays.

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably on major mining, infrastructure, or oil & gas projects.

  • Demonstrated success managing logistics in remote or challenging environments.

  • Strong leadership, coordination, and contractor management skills.

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end logistics including international shipping, road/rail transport, and in-country distribution.

  • High level of cultural awareness and adaptability in remote work settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent trade background and 12+ years’ proven experience)

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and logistics tracking tools preferred.

  • Project logistics experience in West Africa or similar regions is a strong advantage.

  • Knowledge of project execution in greenfield mega-projects is a plus.
