OGCS Guinea SARL is a consultancy company specializing in the provision of multi-disciplined Project Management Services to the Global Mining and Energy Industry. We invite applicants for this role for the Simandou project in Guinea, West Africa. 

Position Overview:

We’re expanding our team for the nightshift execution of the Simandou Iron Ore Mine in Guinea.

We’re seeking experienced professionals at three leadership levels:

  • Nightshift Manager

  • Nightshift Supervisor

  • Nightshift Superintendent

The Nightshift roles will be working as part of an integrated team on a complex, large-scale project.

Strong communication skills, safety-first leadership, and experience in heavy civil, structural, or remote industrial environments are essential.

These roles are based at the Simandou Mine Site in Guinea , with occasional travel between project sites.

Key Responsibilities (General to all levels): 

  • Ensure work is executed to plan and schedule, safely and efficiently during nightshift operations and during handover periods.

  • Lead and motivate teams of direct and subcontracted workers.

  • Maintain strict safety and environmental standards aligned with project protocols.

  • Drive productivity while supporting coordination across multiple work fronts.

  • Communicate clearly between crews, day shift teams, and central project controls.

  • Report progress, issues, and incidents in a timely and professional manner.

All these roles require candidates with a proven track record on major construction or mining projects, ideally in remote or international settings.

You must have nightshift or camp-based work experience.

You must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and be committed to high safety standards.

Accountabilities and Qualifications by level:

Nightshift Manager

  • Leads the entire nightshift operation across disciplines and contractors.

  • Owns performance of all field teams during nightshift hours.

  • Liaises directly with the Day Shift Manager, Construction Manager, and client representatives.

  • Drives coordination across multiple superintendents, ensuring integrated planning and risk mitigation.

  • Leads emergency response and incident investigations when required.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of major project experience, including management of large teams on nightshift or 24/7 operations.

    • Proven leadership in remote environments.

    • Solid technical grounding in mining, construction, or infrastructure projects.

    • Ability to manage cross-functional teams under pressure and make clear, timely decisions.

    • Strong safety ethos and excellent communication skills..

Nightshift Supervisor

  • Frontline leader overseeing a specific crew or task.

  • Assigns tasks, monitors safe execution, checks quality.

  • Ensures compliance with toolbox talks, JSAs, and SWMS.

  • Supports minor adjustments to sequencing to maintain productivity.

  • Acts as the first point of contact for workers during the shift.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction site supervision, ideally with nightshift or remote experience.

  • Knowledge across civil, mechanical, electrical, or logistics work scopes.

  • Strong communication, people management, and problem-solving skills.

Nightshift Superintendent

  • Oversees a major work area or package (e.g., earthworks, structural steel, MEP).

  • Manages multiple supervisors and subcontractor leads.

  • Responsible for short-term planning and resourcing within their area.

  • Supports QA/QC processes, material tracking, and permit close-out.

  • Reports area status to the Nightshift Manager with recommendations and forecasts.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in site execution roles, including leadership of nightshift or remote operations.

  • Solid understanding of multidisciplinary construction activities and constraints.

  • Strong decision-making under pressure and excellent communication skills.

  • Safety-first mindset and ability to lead teams in remote, challenging environments.

Experience required for all roles:

  • Proven track record on major construction or mining projects, ideally in remote or international settings.

  • Nightshift, FIFO, or camp-based work experience.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to safety, environmental performance, and project values.
