Port Arthur Chili Cookoff: A Sizzling Success
At OGCS, we know that teamwork is an essential ingredient for success — and sometimes, that ingredient comes with a little spice!
The Port Arthur Turnaround Team — including our OGCS contractors — turned up the heat for a much-anticipated Chili Cookoff this month. The team had a morning filled with friendly competition, incredible flavors, and plenty of laughs.
With pots simmering and secret recipes unveiled, the teams went all out to impress the three judges in order to claim ultimate chili bragging rights. The competition was fierce, but in the end, three teams were identified as the winners:
🥇 First Place: “Brandon’s Team” – delivering a bold, perfectly balanced chili that wowed the judges.
🥈 Second Place: “Nacho Average Chili” – there was nothing average about this entry!
🥉 Third Place: “The Chili Dawgs” – bringing the heat with a tasty rich and smoky plate.
Beyond the competition, the event was all about bringing the broader team together. Laughter echoed, spoons clinked, and everyone—whether cooking, judging, or just taste-testing—had a blast.
Jacqueline Carranza, Turnaround Cost Lead for OGCS, attended the event. “The event was a fun time” said Jacqueline, “It was great to take a break from the focused work routine and see everyone participate and enjoy in the cooking efforts alongside each other.”
