OGCS Global concludes Gastech 2024 with a celebratory happy hour in Houston

The OGCS Global Happy Hour event was an opportunity for the OGCS Houston team to network and connect across the energy industry. Representatives of every LNG project in North America were invited to join the team for drinks and light refreshments at Cueva Wine Bar in the Marquis Marriott, Houston TX.

“We were delighted with how it went” said Richard Kirwan, SVP Business Development. “Just about all OGCS Americas leadership team were there to host, engage and connect.”

In addition to networking, the event was an opportunity to introduce the newest member of the OGCS Houston team, John McCulloch, VP Quantity Surveying and Commercial Services.

Back in Houston for the first time since 2019, Gastech 2024 was the platform for a broad range of stakeholders, energy sources and low-carbon solutions. With a strong focus on natural gas and LNG during the event, there was a lot of discussion about key policies and potential impacts on pricing and demand.

“LNG is an established sector, making a significant contribution to the world’s energy needs.” comments Michael Ibarra, SVP Claims Advisory.

“There’s a lot of speculation about the impact of the November elections, but natural gas is part of the world’s sustainable and secure energy future now, regardless of politics. The US leads the way in production and technology innovation.”

Chris Bradshaw, SVP Project Controls agrees. “There’s some great projects already producing, and more in the planning stages. The abundance of natural gas in the US and the experience OGCS has on major capital energy projects, positions us really well as the partner for the industry”.

After a full evening of champagne and conversation, the OGCS team were delighted with how the event went.

“After the hard walking and business talking, it was great to relax after Gastech with old and new faces.” explains Richard Smith, SVP Commercial Management.

“It’s always rewarding to know that what we are doing resonates with existing and new customers, to spread the word of our strategic plans, execution and successes. I think our client base is more aware of OGCS as a partner to deliver and support their own success stories.”

Richard Kirwan provides a final comment: “Along with the hand-picked guests we invited from the LNG industry, we entertained many of our clients and contacts from every part of the energy sector. We kept the bar staff very busy.”
