Annual Golf Outing for OGCS Global
OGCS clients and consultants enjoyed a beautiful sunny day in Aberdeen, Scotland, with networking, golf and some friendly competition.
Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Club is in the heart of picturesque Aberdeenshire countryside. The 13th century manor house sits in 240 acres and is a stunning retreat for golfers and visitors from all over the world.
The event raised funds and raised awareness for the charity work undertaken by special guest Iwan Tukalo, former Scotland international rugby player, who also enjoyed the immaculate fairways.
More than thirty golfers took part in the Texas Scramble, representing numerous OGCS customers from the UK and Europe across all energy sectors.
“It was an action-packed day with some great scoring, including plenty of birdies and even a few eagles.” said Alan Duncan, SVP Contract Management, who represented the OGCS Aberdeen team and led them to a tidy finish.
Michael Ibarra SVP Advisory Claims, who represented the US for OGCS, was delighted with the weather: “We were very lucky – I could have left my rain gear in Houston”.
To keep everyone refreshed on the course, a local distillery – House of Elrick – had a unique offering at the 9th hole. Owner Stuart Ingram brought along samples of House of Elrick’s premium small batch artisan gin. Distilled with hand-picked botanicals, juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root and citrus peel, the gin has a bold taste profile, unique to Aberdeenshire, and was greatly appreciated by the guests.
Spectacular prizes were on offer, including a new Mini Countryman car, golfing holidays and a range of accessories. Sadly no player was able to make a hole-in-one to drive away the Mini, but everyone had fun and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Meldrum House’s chef put on a splendid buffet after the golf, where Group Managing Director Phil Burke presented awards for various golfing achievements on the day. Everyone left with golfing goodies including OGCS branded golf paraphernalia.
Alan Duncan summed up the day: “it was wonderful to see such a great turnout and everyone taking time away from their desks to embrace the opportunity to relax and unwind and play one of the most picturesque golf courses in Scotland.”
